What Is the Korea E-Arrival Card?
The Korea E-Arrival Card is a mandatory digital entry declaration for international travelers visiting South Korea. Introduced in February 2025, it replaces the traditional paper arrival form, allowing visitors to submit their entry information online before landing.
The system streamlines border procedures, reduces waiting times at immigration, and helps Korean authorities maintain accurate records for national security and statistical purposes. As of January 2026, the paper arrival card has been fully discontinued.

Questions & Answers
Everything you need to know about the Korea E-Arrival Card
All foreign nationals entering South Korea as temporary visitors or tourists are required to submit an E-Arrival Card. This includes travelers on short-term visas (C-type), visa travelers who have not obtained a K-ETA, and anyone making a short-term business visit. Registered residents of South Korea, valid K-ETA holders, and airline crew members are exempt.
You may submit your E-Arrival Card up to 3 days before your scheduled arrival in South Korea (based on Korean Standard Time). For example, if you arrive on the 20th, you can submit on the 18th, 19th, or 20th. Once submitted, the card is valid for 72 hours, so make sure you enter Korea within that window.
No, a physical printout is not required. Once your E-Arrival Card is confirmed, the information is linked directly to your passport number. Immigration officers can verify your submission electronically when you present your passport. However, it is always a good idea to keep your confirmation email and card number on hand in case it is needed.
No. Each E-Arrival Card is valid for a single entry only. If you leave South Korea and plan to re-enter, you must complete and submit a new E-Arrival Card for each new entry. This applies regardless of whether you are on a multi-entry visa or returning for a second trip.
You will need your full name, nationality, date of birth, passport number and expiry date, a photo or scan of your passport bio page, your flight number or vessel name, your intended entry date, the purpose of your visit, and the full address and phone number of your accommodation in South Korea. Having all of this information ready beforehand makes the process much faster.
If you did not complete your E-Arrival Card before arriving at the airport, you can still do so on your mobile device while at the airport before reaching the immigration desk. We strongly recommend completing it in advance to avoid delays and ensure a smooth and efficient entry process.
No, these are two separate documents. The K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) is an entry authorization required by certain nationalities before traveling to South Korea. The E-Arrival Card is an entry declaration that replaces the old paper arrival form. Travelers who hold a valid K-ETA are exempt from the E-Arrival Card. Travelers who are K-ETA exempt (such as US, UK, and Australian passport holders under current exemption periods) must submit the E-Arrival Card instead.
Once your application is processed, you will receive a confirmation email containing your E-Arrival Card number and a downloadable PDF. This document is linked to your passport and can be presented digitally to immigration officers. We recommend saving the PDF to your device so you have it accessible even without internet access upon arrival.
